I didn’t think that a performance consisting of wiggling in a banana skirt could move people to tears. I didn’t think something like this would make it into the media!

I was commissioned to re-create Josephine Baker’s famous banana dance in honour of the late Patrick O’Connor (writer and critic) at his memorial concert held in Wigmore Hall. I was very touched by the response from that evening – it was very moving indeed.

Marianne Cheesecake is Hatwoman!

I’ve always wanted to be a superhero! I’m glad I was a source of inspiration for a character called Hatwoman, a stylish superhero who fights bad guys and saves the world with her ultra fabulous hat! As a model, I worked closely with Olivia Chancellor and Ollie Bland from The Red Dress and made many action-figure type poses. They transformed this brilliantly into a comic strip for a Hong Kong hat shop called Hatwoman.
